I Got Stung

Hi!  I hope you’re having a good week so far.  Mine started a little rough because I got stung by a bee!  I honestly don’t remember the last time I got stung.  Daniel and I were at his company party and it was a carnival theme. We were getting on The Zipper and when I sat down something poked the back of my leg.  I thought there was something sharp on the seat.  I wiped the seat and my leg and didn’t feel anything.  When we got locked in our cart I looked down and saw the stupid bee on the ground!  My leg was throbbing and I couldn’t get off the ride.  I wasn’t sure if I was allergic because it’s been so long.  I was freaking out a bit thinking I might have an allergic reaction on this ride and I won’t be able to do anything about it.  Luckily I was fine and nothing happened to me one the ride besides getting a little nauseous from spinning around so much.  Anyway…  Let’s talk about these culottes for a sec.  They are so comfy!  I was in NYC at the beginning of the year and found them at Zara.  I forgot I had them and spotted them in my closet last week. They are the best summer pant because they are so light weight.  I can’t want to wear these more.  It’ll probably wear them once a week!  Okay, have a good Wednesday!

Monday Morning Brights

Good morning!  I hope you had a good weekend!  I sure did.  Daniel and I went to Park City, UT for a little anniversary getaway.  We didn’t do anything special, but it was so nice and relaxing.  We got massages, ate a lot of food, walked around Main Street, went to Park Silly and just spent time together.  It was the perfect way to celebrate our first year of marriage!  Anyway…  I usually don’t wear a lot of color and I for sure don’t wear yellow very much.  I feel like yellow tops makes my teeth look super yellow.  I know, I’m a little crazy!  I saw this top last fall before I the Kingdom and State’s spring line launched and fell in love!  The fabric is neoprene which is right on trend.  I paired it with shorts, but it also looks good with a pair of skinny jeans.  The great thing about this top is it’s a thick ish material so it’ll for sure cross over into your fall wardrobe!  Kk have a great day!  Bye!

It’s Been a Year!

Today is mine and Daniel’s one year anniversary!  I really can not believe it’s been a year.  It kind of makes me sick how fast time flies!  Being married to Daniel is so much fun and I love every second of it, but don’t think the first year wasn’t a little difficult for us.  I lived by myself in our house for a year and a half.  I was super independent and was stuck in my ways.  I liked things in a certain spot and liked to do things a certain way.  Well, obviously when Daniel moved in, things weren’t getting done like I liked them and I would find things out-of-place.  I am a little OCD and it would drive me nuts.  I finally had to realize that my way isn’t the “right” way and had to let stupid little things go.  Those little things aren’t worth an argument.  Anyway… Since we have been married 12 months I thought I would share 12 things I love about being married
1.  There is always someone to support you no matter what it is.  I feel like Daniel is my #1 fan.  He is always encouraging me to do things and to be my very best.  When I was toying with the idea of starting my blog he never once said I don’t think you should do it.  He was super positive and supported me 100%.  When I get discouraged about something he is always there to lift me up and point me in the right direction.
2.  There was a time when we were dating that I was on my “best” behavior.  I know we all do it, but that’s the time when you don’t let your craziness come out, hide your emotions, act super confident and don’t eat very much.  Now since we are married I can be as emotional as I want and Daniel is there to lend a shoulder to cry on.  I don’t just have to eat salads when we go out to eat and he won’t judge me if I have to unbutton my pants after dinner because I ate too much.  I can say and do whatever I want and I know I’m not being judged.  I can even sing (more like yell) in the car or shower as loud as I want and he will join or laugh and tell me how cute I am.  I am 100% comfortable being my self around him and I love it!
3.  So we all get sick or for us women have a time of the month which isn’t the best time for us.  Daniel is the best and doesn’t let that stuff gross him out.  He has for sure had to deal with some tough times especially after I got my IUD in.  He was so cute and took such good care of me.  If I needed a bath he would draw one for me and add lavender oil in it.  He would even come in and wash my hair for me because I was too weak to do it for myself.  Once you’re married all the “gross” things aren’t so gross anymore.  You love your spouse just as much or even more after having to take care of them.  They are 100% vulnerable and at their worst, but knowing that someone is putting all of that aside is very comforting.
4.  I am a huge cuddlier.  Every night when we fall asleep I am over on Daniel’s side with my legs on top of him.  He always says we only use half of the bed, but that is his fault for not coming to me.  Sleeping next to someone is so much better than sleeping alone.  If I’m ever cold I know I can snuggle up next to Daniel and he will keep me warm.  Having a forever cuddle buddy is the best!
5.  We try to eat healthy, but sometimes getting pizza, popcorn, McDonald’s, Cafe Rio, ice cream, chips, etc are so much better.  And when you have that comfort food watching Netflix is a must.  We just got done with 11 seasons of Grey’s Anatomy.  We didn’t watch them every night, but close to it.  Daniel mostly slept because we would watch them at night and he’s not so much of a night owl.  I always had to catch him up on what was going on.  I love love love picking a series we both love and watching it together.  It’s a good activity to do together.  It makes you spend time together when your lives are super hectic and crazy even if it is only for an hour.  I can’t wait to pick our next series.  I’m pretty sure I need to let Daniel pick this one or our Netfilx dates will be over!  HA
6.  I think I’m pretty funny, but Daniel reassures me all the time that I am.  I love laughing with him!  We tell each other jokes, random stories, talk in weird voices and go on random rants about one item or subject all the time.  I love it so much.  We are always laughing together!  It’s seriously the best to have someone get your corks and not make fun of your for them, but love them.
7.  Daniel is the most thoughtful person ever.  I travel a lot for work and I find random notes in my suitcase.  It’s so cute and I cry every time I read them.  He is Brazilian so he is a sweet talker!  He also gets me flowers randomly just for the heck of it.  He just isn’t getting them for me for holidays, anniversaries or to say sorry.  I love coming home to find flowers on the table.  One time I got home from a work trip and he had flowers and candy laid out on the table when I got home.  It was so cute because he didn’t throw it on the table, he arranged everything where he wanted it to be and it was so cute and neat.  I love the little random things he does for me!
8.  Daniel has become the best listener.  There are times when I just want to vent and not have someone tell me not to do it.  It took him a few times to not give advice, but now he let’s me go on a rant about whatever I want.  I also love coming home to him and telling him about my day at work or stories I heard or read.  We usually talk on the phone everyday when he is driving home from work.  There’s been a few times he hasn’t called and I was super sad.  I love those calls where we can catch up on our days and just talk about whatever.  Most of the time the stories I tell him are super useless, but I know that he will engage with me and act super excited if I’m super excited.
9.  So we have been married a year and I said I wouldn’t be that person who gets super fat after the first year.  Guys it’s hard.  We are so busy all the time and eating out is just so much easier and more convenient.  I haven’t gone up a pant size yet, but I know if I do Daniel will still tell me I’m super skinny and love my body no matter what.  I have fat days often and break down and cry or get mad because I don’t have anything to wear.  Daniel is always right there to lift me up and tell me exactly what I want and need to hear.  In his eyes I am always beautiful and I love that about him!
10.  I love having a 24/7 buddy.  There is always someone to go get food with you late at night.  Or go on a random over nighter.  Or go on some adventure with you.  It’s even nice to have someone keep you company when you go grocery shopping.  Now that Daniel has his green card we are going to go on out of country adventures and I love that I get to share all of these memories with him!
11.  Before I started the blog I was huge on taking pictures.  Daniel has gone through the pain of taking engagements (which lasted almost three hours), bridals, fall photos and Christmas card photos.  I know that doesn’t seem like a lot, but no matter where we go we are taking a picture or 50 haha  I told him that we need to document or memories.  We bought a professional camera, a tri pod, a Polaroid, a selfie stick and a go pro plus we have our phones.  We for sure have everything we need to get the perfect picture.  Now since he knows he can’t get out of it he just smiles and does it.  He used to complain, but he still had to do it.  He always jokes that I’m going to be the crazy camera mom who chases her kids everywhere.  I already know I will, but he and our kids will thank me one day!
12.  I could do more than 12 reasons why I love being married and why I love Daniel, but lastly for now I love that he chose me to spend the rest of his life with.  From the first time we hung out we had a connection.  Everything was super easy when we were dating and we always wanted to be together.  We would make an effort to see each other all the time even if it was for only an hour.  I told some friends after a few dates that I was going to marry him and I did!  I love that he makes me feel special every single day.  Like I said earlier we have our arguments and disagreements, but in the end everything is resolved and we love each other more.  Daniel, I love you so much and I can’t wait for many more anniversaries we get to spend together!
I’ve only shared a few engagments, bridals and wedding day photos with people, but here are some of my favorites.  It’s only about 1/32 of them haha we took a lot of pictures!

Shorts Are My Thing

Hi Monday! This past weekend Daniel and I went to Park City with some friends and stayed over night. We went to Main Street, ate some dinner and played games all night. Then on Saturday the boys went mountain biking and the girls went to the pool. It was so relaxing and a nice weekend get away. I forget that Park City is so close to us and don’t take advantage of going up there often. Right now we don’t have kids and got to talking with one of the girls about how much freedom we have right now. We can’t take for granted this time we have to spends with our friends and do whatever we want. Don’t get me wrong I am excited to have kids with Daniel one day, but it can definitely wait a few more years. I love that we can stay up as late as we want or go on random overnight trips. If you don’t have kids don’t just sit around and wait for the time to pass. Life is too short to not live you’re life! I know once we have kids we will take them to travel and do things with us, but for right now I love the freedom and flexibility we have! Anyway… About this outfit. I seriously can’t get enough of these shorts! They have saved my life this summer. They are super light weight and go with any kind of too you want to wear. I know summer is half way over, but get some of these now! I know you won’t regret it and you won’t be throwing them away next year. They are a timeless piece to have in your closet!

A Little Bit of Color

I’ve noticed that my past few outfits have had some sort of blue hue in them so I decided to wear a colorful dress for this post.  Honestly, I love color, but I never wear it.  For some reason I always buy white, blue or black.  I should take advantage of the summer months and wear a lot of color, but I haven’t this year.  I bought this dress last year at Asos and actually got a green one too.  I love love love wearing flowy dresses.  They are the best and make you feel put together even when you feel like a hot mess!  PS Isn’t this house the cutest?  When we were shooting here we tried to open the gate to get in so we could look in the house, but it wouldn’t open!  Kk have a good weekend!

Is it Christmas Yet?

So I am posting some more about Bermuda shorts!  I was cleaning out mine and Daniel’s closet last week and found these shorts.  I bought them last year at Asos, but never worn them because I forgot I had them!  They were folded under a ton of jeans and shoved in the back of our closet.  I love finding things like this in my closet.  It’s pretty much like Christmas morning!  JKJK  Nothing is better than Christmas morning!  Speaking of Christmas I told Daniel last week that in four months I get to put our Christmas Decorations up!  Guys you have no idea how much I love Christmas!  I can’t wait!!!!!!  I actually watched a Christmas movie on Friday after work.  It was on TV so I had to!  It was on the Hallmark Channel.  It was the one called Snow Bride.  I seriously love those movies and I can’t wait until they are on every hour of the day during the holidays!  Anyway… enough about Christmas.  I hope you have a good day!

Bermudas

I’ve always said I wouldn’t be a Bermuda short wearer, but I am!  We all make some silly little fashion promise and then before you know it we’re breaking it.  I really didn’t want to start wearing Bermudas because I have made it very clear that I would NEVER EVER wear them.  Oh well, it’s been so hot here I can’t even fathom wearing jeans so I broke down!  I’ve literally worn shorts almost every day the past few weeks.  I normally wear dresses, but I found a few pair of Bermudas and can’t seem to want to wear anything else.  You will for sure be seeing these on repeat a lot!  Sorry if you get sick of them, but they are comfy and so cute!  Have a good day!

Happy FriYAY everyone!  I hope you have fun plans this weekend!  I am super excited to just chill this weekend.  We haven’t had a weekend home in five weeks!  Today for my Friday’s Favorites I am going to talk about hats.  I am obsessed with hats.  They can really make an outfit look complete.  I am very OCD when I buy hats.  I can’t wear floppy brim hats.  The brim has to be stiff or it looks super funny on my head.  Every time I go into a store I have to try them on.  Majority of the time I know they will be floppy, but hey it never hurts to try.  I found these two hats at forever 21.  I am seriously so surprised how good Forever 21’s product is getting!  I’ve seen hats that look like this and they are $60-100.  I bought both of these for under $20 each!  What a steal!  They are exactly what I’ve been looking for too.  I need to go back and buy the other colors.  They for sure are a staple in my closet all year around!  Anyway… Have a good day!  Bye!

Culottes & Life Lessons

Hello!  I know it’s Wednesday, but I am still trying to get into the swing of things after the holiday weekend!  The past few days I have been lagging a little.  Friday we went boating and the weather was perfect!  There obviously were a lot of boats on the lake, but we still had fun.  The only sucky part about our day was breaking down and being stranded on the water!  We called the rangers office, but they were dealing with an accident and said they would get to us as soon as they were done.  We tried to flag people down, but for some reason no one was willing to stop and help.  We were getting a little worried because we were getting close to shore and didn’t want the bottom of the boat to hit rocks.  We were just about to jump out and push the boat to safety when some people stopped and asked if we needed help.  Honestly, they were the last people who I thought would stop.  It was a group of friends, two guys and one girl.  They were a little harsh looking, but so nice!  They helped tie a rope onto our boat and slowly pulled us to the ramp.  One of the guys even came into our boat to check the motor and things out to see if he knew what was wrong.  I feel bad that I made a snap judgement on them.  I for sure learned a lesson last week and will never judge someone on their appearance.  I wish I knew their names so I could send them a thank you.  I know this outfit has nothing to do with my weekend or my story, but I thought it was a good lesson to share with everyone.  Anyway…  These culottes are one of my favorite pieces from Kingdom and State.  They are seriously the bomb.com!  If you haven’t tried culottes try them NOW!  I know that these are white, but they are thick and not see through at all.  Plus they are so comfy and flattering.  I really feel so skinny in them!  Yahoo!  Who doesn’t love that feeling?  Anyway…  I think I’ve talked your ears off enough!  Bye!

The 4th

Happy 4th of July weekend!  I hope you are going to go do something fun!  This post is going to be super short because I am headed boating right now yahoo!  I got up last week on the wake skate for the first time.  It’s only taken me 6-7 boating trips to get up.  I am hoping I can get up today!  Fingers crossed guys!  Anyway here is a little outfit inspo for you.  I got this dress at a Lularoe house party.  When I saw it I knew I had to use it for my 4th of July post and it’s super cute.  I love the hot air balloons on it!  Anyway…  Be safe this weekend and enjoy the fireworks, your friends and your families!
